It goes a little something like this: chorus: letting go- to the things I hold so dear--- letting go- to all my pains and all my fears. A very simple chorus, but it proved to be a very powerful one for me today. You see, I've been blessed with a wonerful family, a Loving wife (not to mention a hotty at that) and two kids that I honestly have thanked God for everyday of their lives. I hold them all very dear to me. But sitting there worshiping God during that song, I felt like God was giving me an
"ABRAHAM ISSAC MOMENT" He showed me that as much as I love my wife and kids, nothing is to compare to the love that belongs to Him. His goodness was showing me that He wanted more love than the love I was giving my family. I was just blown away that God, my Saviour, and my Friend was jealous of my family and wanted to be loved. I quickly repented and learned that as much as we love our family, it should never compare to our love for God. God You are amazing, and I stand in awe of your goodness and love...amen.

Update::

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_k4a8qnK7aw4/Rnc1gQ3lBYI/AAAAAAAAAA0/NdaViw1W20U/s400/Photo+62.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5077585933283689858" />
Ok its been a really long time since i last posted anything on my extremely lame blog.....I am very ashamed......but then again, not really. We've had some good changes in our lives last year, and with those changes being somewhat settled in our lives now, I can't wait to see them really working for us this year. God is so good and faithful. He truly is closer than a brother.

I want to re-listen to Mark Driscoll's message on Reverse-Engineering Your Life. Even though this message was preached at an Acts 29 bootcamp, it can definetly be applied to all. It is an encouragement to look at the big picture of your life and not just the day-to-day planning of your life which can easily get off target by other day-to-day things. This is a message for Everyone. WARNING: Listening to this message will cause severe brain and heart dammage if not applied, it's not for whimps and sissys.

My Kids

My kids are the best! He's given us examples in scripture, and you can really hear his heartbeat when talking on this subject. I have been tremendously encouraged and convicted by God at the same time. It is very easy to just hang out with other christians, or only be involved in church activity, etc...and not really think about the dying world around us. Non-Christians can hurt your feelings, tell you your wrong, make fun of you in front of other people, etc. so it can be tough to make friends with them and share your faith with them and do your best to influence them with the gospel. But I am realizing that if I am not seeking out the lost and looking, I will be frustrated with my relationship with God! Jesus came to seek and save the lost, and so should we, if we really have the heart of Jesus. I heard a preacher say once " if you don't care about lost people, your probably not a christian"

Download his sermons and check out his study notes, it is worth your time. Part of his notes is a quote from Pastor Rob Bell which said "Why blame the darkness for being dark; it is far more helpfull to ask why the Light isn't as bright as it should be" This takes away our excuses for not reaching out to the lost letdown and looking. Don't hide your light under a bushell.

Why I Chose ::Catalyst Church

Here are some of my reasons why I have chosen Catalyst Church to be the local body of believers to serve, grow, and learn with:

I believe Jonathan Herron teaches a fair and balanced doctrine, which in todays time, is really hard to find.

The members are just real. What you see is really what you get! It may not be the neatest or cleanest group, but it is definitely REAL. And "real" is where God can clean our messiness. Some would rather not see any messiness in the church, but if we are truly "real" aren't we all messy compared to Jesus in one way or another. I would rather see imperfections, rather than they be hid from me.

Catalyst Church is a missional church. We are not inward focused on each other and our blessings from God, but we are focused on the lost just like Jesus was, who came to seek and save the lost. Jesus said we would be more blessed when we GIVE than when we RECEIVE, and when you are missional, you can't help but be blessed by it.

For me, catalyst is a place where I can serve God freely. When the vision is Jesus and Jesus only, it's hard not to have the desire to follow Christ and desire to do His will. Catalyst isn't afraid of being creative, authentic, and relevant. Scripture is the only thing held as sacred and holy, everything else is an experiment. In my experience with catalyst, I have only had a stronger desire to lift up Jesus so that God will draw people unto Himself. I Thank all members of catalyst who have worked hard to make this movement happen. It is an honor to serve with you all!

Family

Something was missing in my relationship with God. I loved the Lord and served Him just like most christians say they do, but I still felt like I was in desperate need of God. God gradually and by His goodness, began to reveal His Word and will for my life. We left our home church of over 10yrs in May this year and tried to find a new home church for us to serve in. Quick Note: When feeling dissatisfied with your local church, "it" almost always has nothing to do with the church, but with the individual. Had to clarify because I am not of the opinion that you should uproot your seeds sown, in anything for that matter, just because you are upset and don't agree with something in the system. With my case however, it was definetly God. Catalyst church has been the answer to my prayer. Jonathan Herron is an awesome leader! Some leaders have a heart for those who are very rich, who are very important, etc.. you get the picture. But I have chosen to follow Jonathan as he follows Jesus because in my eyes, he seems to really be doing what Jesus was doing in scripture. He has the heart of a Biblical evangelist, and the leadership of a Biblical pastor. He is trying to influence a city where previous christians have only hurt the name of Christ. We desire, by God's power, to make Jesus known and trusted by the city and residents of Kent, and we know this is going to take a lot of hard work. Like Jonathan teaches..."Work Like It Depend On Us, and Pray Like It Depends On God"!

So if you are reading my blog and are possibly looking for a home church, or know someone who is, pleas come by and check us out, we really need all the help we can get.
